Thanks to everyone who had anything to do with it’s organisation, played or attended. Think they earned a few bucks, but if you’ve got the cash, they got the know how. Photos shall be up in the coming week.

Explosions In The Sky - Concorde 2, Brighton - January 2012
I am a 22 year old documentary/live music photographer based in the south west of the UK.
Solidarity (Occupy London 2011)
Those who express dissidence are painted as hooligans, morons and hippies. In the world of mainstream media the dissidents voice can barely be heard above the bellowing pockets of vested interests, thus endowing generations with a social taboo upon critical thinking.
Despite the endless flood of empty distractions and archaic propaganda unleashed by much of the British media, the last year has seen a colosal rise in political and economic awareness. The game is changing and the curtains are opening, slowly.

Oddly, I am entering this image in a competition to be displayed in The Houses of Parliament, as part of ”A chance for youth creativity and flair to brighten up the atmosphere and remind the decision makers that the future generations have a creative role to play within democracy.” - Michael Sani, Bite the Ballot.
I’m almost certain that for obvious reasons the judges won’t allow this image, however, for the initial stages of the competition, the voting is down to you.
I’d love to get the photograph noticed in the context of the competition, and what would be better to display in the Houses of Parliament than the dissidence that many have tried to oppress.
Voting doesn’t start until October 25th 2012, but it is possible to sign up for a reminder now (by clicking ‘Support Jazz’ on the right of link). It’s a long shot, but we’re all in it together, right?
